To complete the look in your renovation or new home choose a bold piece of art that has a 'wow' factor. Every room needs a focal point and often art or a lovely piece of furniture can turn a neutral room into something that makes a real statement. Make sure that it is not overdone by hanging too many competing pieces where the eye is drawn to many things at once. Often the place to hang work is in the entranceway, the wall over or near a long sofa or above the fireplace. Keep in mind the kind of heating though as it's not advisable to have direct heat near your precious paintings. Many times on our home visits we see too small paintings in large spaces or works hung too high or low. At Art Box we would be delighted to visit your home with a selection of paintings to try, we can give advice on the best options. This is a free service to Christchurch residents. We can also hang the work for you if required. The photos features a stunning abstract acrylic by Paul Smith placed in a very neutral entranceway. It gives interest and light with an ethnic feel that suits the owners style and decor.
