Art Box Gallery is now part of a national arts trail helping visitors from overseas and from around New Zealand to find us when they visit Christchurch. Since the earthquakes, many local galleries and studios have changed premises or closed altogether. Simply google www.arttrails.co.nz and click on the Canterbury region and you will see Art Box Gallery listed. We have had a number of overseas tourists recently who are confused about where to look for New Zealand art so this should be a great way of promoting all of us who are up and running. If you are local it is also a great way of having a good day out browsing the galleries and supporting your local artists.

Open Box at Art Box on June 16th was a successful event that saw over 100 clients and their friends visit the gallery to enjoy the new art available and listen to the relaxing jazz music by Le Fresh. To hear the buzz of interest and the laughter was great and many of you commented on the relaxing atmosphere, the colour and vibrancy. Congratulations to those of you who won original artworks. Thanks for supporting your local artists and make sure to tell all your friends about us.
 We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our first 'Open Box at Art Box' day on Saturday 16th June 2012. This will be a special open day with live music by talented jazz duo, Le Frésh.
Simply by coming to view the art and leaving your e-mail details you will be entitled to go in the draw to win one of several original works! Bring a friend who has never been to Art Box Gallery and you will be able to have two chances for the draw. Our open day starts at 11am and runs until 5pm. Drop in any time over that period to browse and hopefully buy our new artwork, cards and original prints by talented local artists. There is usually plenty of parking available.
