Parking is available immediately underneath the building & there is an additional visitors park as well. Art Box Gallery has been serving art lovers for many years and we have a wonderful group of talented artists. Our environment that is very relaxed and friendly. We love to help our visitors find artworks that will enhance their homes and workplaces. Increasingly we are being contacted by art lovers who live in other parts of New Zealand or even overseas. Modern technology like the ArtPlacer App is allowing us to extend the Art Box experience regardless of where you live.
Our Christchurch Art Gallery originally started as a temporary initiative after the huge earthquake in 2011. At the time the building was the studio of artist Beverley Frost. With so many art spaces lost Beverley decided to take in a few Christchurch artists and Art Box Gallery began. Now we are in our fifteenth year with around sixty New Zealand artists represented. For the convenience of visitors we have parking immediately underneath our building. Normal hours are Tuesday to Friday 11:00am to 4:00pm and Saturdays 11:00am to 2:00pm. Outside of these times special arrangements can be made and Beverley makes many home visits. So welcome to Art Box Gallery, an enduring initiative that supports New Zealand creativity.
