The whole day was spent perusing the many exhibits many of which had sold.  Total inspiration submerging ourselves in creativeness and we we blown away by the curation of the pieces in each of the rooms. Put it on your bucket list for next year!

We are thrilled to invite you to our exclusive joint Ray White Papanui/Art BoxGallery event! Join us for an enlightening afternoon as we help you delve into the world of home art selection and display, from the expert to the amateur. We will share expert tips on how to choose and hang art that enhances your Christchurch home, whatever your budget. In addition to the talk, you'll have the opportunity to browse and purchase a curated selection of beautiful artworks across all price ranges. (The gallery will also be open at this time & it is conveniently close - just across the road at 1/16 Loftus Street).
A donation from every piece sold on the day will go to the Ronald McDonald House Christchurch, supporting families in need.
The date is Saturday 17th August 2024  - Time: 12.00pm - 1.30pm.
Bev from Art Box will be speaking - 12.15pm and again at 1.00pm.
The Location is at Ray White Papanui - Level 1, 7 Winston Avenue, Papanui.
There is no cost to attend

]]><![CDATA[Local school art talk]]>Tue, 18 Jun 2024 00:41:44 GMThttps://www.artboxgallery.info/blog/local-school-art-talkIt was a pleasure this month to be asked to give a little talk to 150 school children at a local school to chat about art and what inspires artists. We also chatted about how they might compose a painting of their own from the schools native gardens in order to create a calendar of their own later this year. The children were full of questions and were very engaged. Hopefully some budding young artists will emerge and we look forward to seeing their own creations soon. Like minded art lovers shared about their art journeys and we were glad to let them know a little about the history of how we came to be a gallery and  about the artists we represent. Recently, this lovely couple from Houston, Texas came in at the end of their trip having found us online. They chose this stunning large original painting by Florence Egasse to take home to remind them of their trip to NZ. We had a great time chatting about their travels and they enjoyed our large selection of NZ art. We were able to pack ship and insure the work via our local Pack and Send Papanui couriers and it arrived safe a little over a week afterwards!

From Cheviot down to Ashburton you can look out for the black and red flags and pop in to say hi to find out more about the artists processes and inspirations. Art Box has taken part too and we can showcase over 60 NZ artists, many of them local as well as being the Studio of Beverley Frost. From cards to original large works we have every style and colour that you can imagine. It's been great meeting new visitors and with the Arts Trail map available online (or we have physical copy) you can grab a friend and make a lovely day out.  We are offering tea, coffee a nice cold glass of water and boxes of Art Box orange jellybeans!
