It's taken a number of years but the city of Christchurch is starting to revive after the huge earthquakes that rocked the city over 8 years ago. Although there is a long way to go there are some very cool new buildings and areas to explore. The most recent is the lovely new library and slowly the Arts Centre which always attracted many visitors both local and international, is taking shape. This great painting by Christine King depicting the Arts Centre as it was is where we hope to get back to in the not too distant future.

Art Box Gallery is pleased to welcome Galina Kim to their list of talented New Zealand artists. Galina has an impressive history as an artist and tutor. Her work is exquisite and she is able to create landscapes, still life, flowers and iconic art with her own unique style. She originated from the Ukraine with a double Masters degree in Fine art and Design (Honours) and has since settled in New Zealand where she now finds the inspiration for her paintings.  Galina has won numerous awards for her creations and we would be happy to furnish you with a list of these.
