At Art Metro, they offer an oasis away from the everyday hustle and bustle, and believe that anyone can learn the skills required to create fabulous pieces of artwork - no matter how little, or how much talent they claim to have! In addition to their art tuition, Art Metro also have a wonderful cafe, where they serve some great coffee. The arty feel flows through from the art studio into the art inspired cafe. Picture abstractly painted tables, inspiring art on the walls, and the focal point, their amazing coffee cup mural - well worth a look!
If you want to try something new and creative go and visit them on Papanui Road (next to Animates) and ask to talk to Simon Walmisley, the owner. Simon will be very happy to chat to you about the different courses they offer and you can see the space they offer their student, young and old. It's great being part of a local business area, and surprisingly Papanui has a lot to offer away from the mall. Since the quakes it has become quite a little haven of restaurants, cafes and great little shops.
