Nigel Wilson
Nigel was born in 1957 and grew up in Wellington. He has been a full-time artist since leaving the teaching profession in 1997. He was Associate Art Teacher at Cargill High School for seven years.
He has a Fine Arts Degree from Ilam, University of Canterbury, completed in 1982, where he was tutored under Don Peebles. Since then he has exhibited regularly, winning a number of painting awards and is well represented in public and private collections throughout New Zealand and has 27 solo exhibitions to his name. In the year 2000 Nigel moved to Alexandra, where he continues to boldly paint the Otago landscape. More recent involvement with the Central Otago Art Society saw his appointment as President in 2008-9.
