Mel Brew

Mel Brew is a Canterbury artist who has been painting for many years.  She has attended classes at University and alongside other Christchurch artists in their homes.  Mel paints in both traditional and abstract styles.  She has painted in watercolour and oils in the past and is currently working with mixed media and acrylics in modern abstract and pictorial work, enjoying the creative process.  This involves combining layers of texture with layers of acrylic to create depth, colour and light.  She has participated in several solo and joint exhibitions nationwide and is represented in collections in New Zealand, Australia, USA and United Kingdom.  The New Zealand landscape and her passion for wine feature in many of her pieces.
