At Art Box Gallery we are delighted to hear that one of our talented North Island artists, Kirsty Black, was nominated as a finalist in the 2020 national Parkin Drawing awards. This prestigious award gets a lot of publicity and so we are super proud that Kirsty got into the finals this year. Congratulations and onwards and upwards for you!

Since Covid 19 we have been delighted to discover that many of our clients, regular and new, are buying New Zealand made artworks. Many of our regular clients are returning time and time again to support local artists and our little gallery. We are so very grateful and feel so supported in this. We hope it goes on for a long time to come. So why not check out our latest works page and whether it be cards, prints or originals continue to support the creative community by buying local and buying NZ Made. Here's a grateful client from Auckland who recently purchased then kindly sent us a photo montage of her new painting. Thank you!!
'The artworks look so good, we are thrilled!. Thanks so much for your excellent advice and top service- so much appreciated' Dave and Linda
Thanks for your wonderful support of our artists during the Covid19 lockdown promotion. Everyday we posted new works and everyday we sold one to several little $100 originals! We had clients waiting everyday for the latest offering and many of them were snapped up in seconds! You had to be quick to get one. We then paid our artists as soon as they sold so that money was flowing to them just when they needed it most. We had a lot of fun when our clients visited to collect their little paintings in level 3 and we hand delivered many of them too. Some heading off to Australia and all over New Zealand. Many of our clients said they found it a highlight of their day to see what was going to be offered next and we had plenty of requests for commissions too from it. How grateful we were at Art Box to all of our wonderful facebook visitors - you kept us painting and helped our ratings climb really high too! Here's just a few that sold....
Art Box Gallery have put out the challenge for their artists to create pieces of work during the lockdown due to Covid-19 virus. Each artist is allowed to produce up to ten pieces of art any medium or genre in the time they aren't able to get out and about. We've got quite a few signed up already so looking forward to sharing them with you as time goes on. Each piece will then be delivered to the gallery after the lockdown and we hope to display them all. Any piece will be valued at $100 and the artists will receive the lion share of sales as its a pretty tough time out there now in the creative world. As they appear online you are able to 'grab' one and I'll put your name on it for later. It's a great way of starting a collection or getting a piece of art from an artist you love. We hope you join us on our facebook page as we upload them. Art Box Gallery@ Loftus
At Art Box Gallery® we are all for paper, yet it must be the right type. When you buy a work of art on paper or on canvas at Art Box you are investing in an enduring pleasure and supporting the New Zealand arts community. Other paper is soon gone and as the kitty above shows us, the more you have the more you will waste.
Despite the current crisis and increasing 'shutdowns' Art Box Gallery® remains open for visitors. Of course we have our hand sanitiser at the ready and are taking other precautions. For those reticent to come out we can visit if required. With physical travel increasingly constrained why not take your mind on a journey. With art there are no limits to the places you can visit. Start of 2020 and we are excited to get a new look. With a sharp new logo by Kay at Black Swan Creative and Speedy Signs (who produced them and climbed the scaffolding to install) we've freshened and brightened our image in Loftus Street. We are gradually moving all of our advertizing over to this design so watch this space!
So chuffed to find this glowing review on our Trip Advisor page recently! Whoever you are thank you, we appreciate all our nice reviews on social media. They help spread the word
Reviewed 4 September 2019 via mobile Good Selection Of Local Artists If you are looking for affordable and creditable NZ art you could try this small selling gallery in Papanui. I was astonished to see the quantity and quality of the stock here, with a large variety of artists and styles of wall art. I found some work by artists I already was aware of as well as some people whose work is new to me. There is a variety of media; a few photos, works on paper, right through to large acrylics and oils on canvas. I think that this is a great place to find a piece of art whether you are local or a visitor from overseas looking for something interesting to adorn your walls and remind you of NZ. Lots of the works are quite small so would be easy to pack safely but it looks as though the gallery will also ship as I noticed lots of bubble wrapped pieces. The gallery is situated in a small residential side street across the Main North Road from North lands Mall so you will find good bus links to and from here. There is also off street parking. Art Box Gallery has joined forces with Sandalwood Designs to showcase these stunning luxury two million dollar apartments right in the heart of Christchurch at the edge of Hagley Park. Fiona Renton from Sandalwood Designs created her magic touch with interiors to fit out this brand new showhome and we are delighted to exhibit our original artworks in the rooms in order that they can be marketed by Adam Heazlewood of Bayleys. With and earthy, classy feel they are bound to impress any prospective buyers. We would be happy to move right in as they are simply beautiful.
